Windshield washer

Short post here, one of the small things that was wrong with the car was that the windshield washer resivour and the pump was misplaced/stolen (will explain later) from the car. So I picked up one of these kits today from an auto parts store close to me.
The kit goes for about $125.00 and comes with the resivour, pump, pipes, nozzles and needed bolts and wires. This saved me from having to buy the pump online and create a system myself.
I'll try to post the installation pics and probably a video later on.

The power of WD40

So I am fixing the lock on the passenger side door to day. After going trough all the socket attachments in my tool kit and not finding the right size to get the bolts on the lock lose, I decided to turn to an old friend.
You would be surprised at what you can fix with just a can of WD40. From killing roaches to fixing jammed up locks, WD40 has solved many problems for me around the house and in the car.
But back to fixing the lock, all I did was remove the side panels covering the door. So that I could gain access to the lock. Then I sprayed the lock housing with WD40.  I then closed the door, and from the outside I pushed the straw attached on the can into the lock opening and sprayed a generous amount in their.
Let it sit for about a minute then inserted the key and wiggled it between the lock and unlocked position till it moved freely. And problem was fixed. Saved my self a trip to the locksmith or the mechanic,  who would have charged me $$$ to probably do the same.

what is this about

So what is this about, probably the question most people are asking? Well after 2 years of saving, I have finally decided to purchase a vehicle. And I decide if I’m going to purchase a used vehicle, I could either buy one that’s driving and fix any surprises as they come up, or I can buy a shell and build it up from scratch, so I will know all the problems before hand.

While not the best decision for someone with not so much time on their hand I picked the second option. So introducing the 1994 Hyundai Scoupe (pronounced scoop or s- coupe). This is a 2 door version of the Hyundai Excel. It names come from a combination of the word sport and coupe hence scoupe. This version of the vehicle was the first car to roll out of the factory with Hyundai’s  own in house manufactured Alpha engine ( previous versions used engines manufactured by Mitsubishi)  this was an 1.5L inline four engine which produced 92 horsepower and a turbocharged version doing about 115 horsepower.

However due to ease of parts and for reasons I will explain in a later post I decide to change the engine to the GA15DE better known as a B14 engine this engine can be found in the Nissan sunny, Pulsar, Wingroad and Presea. The GA15DE is an 1.5 liter engine with DOHC and throttle-body electronic fuel injection. It produces 104 horsepower. Plus it fits snug in the engine bay. The point of this blog is to show what I have done to the vehicle and to get information and help from anyone who can spare the time. So here’s to looking forward to a good builds. See ya
